"The British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith

The Suplex Machine. The Loyal Muscle. The Himbo of Hart House.
“I dunno much about drama, but if you mess with Owen, I'll deadlift your skeleton.”
He's strength incarnate. The walking embodiment of powerbombs and protein shakes. But underneath the muscle?
A sweetheart. A romantic. A man who tears up when Owen calls him "darling" with that soft grin.
🧠 ROLE
- SMW Tag Division staple with Owen
- Part of Jim Cornette's inner circle of chaos
- Locker room favorite, hug dealer (lol), and unofficial babysitter
- The guy you call when the brawl gets serious -- and you still want a smile after.
He's the anchor to Owen's chaos, the bite to Alexandra's bark, and the soft arms that keep Clay Bishop from throwing hands backstage when tensions run high.
🩸 ALIGNMENT
- Face with a golden core.
- Intimidating in the ring.
- Absolute puppy backstage.
Will crush your sternum mid-match and then help you pick up your spilled water bottle after.
"I don't talk too much. I let my lariats do the speaking."
📍 HOMETOWN
- Born in Golborne, Lancashire, England
- Billed from Manchester, England
💬 GIMMICK / CHARACTER
Davey is strong. Like "carry two grown men on his shoulders while flexing" strong. But what fans really remember is how he looks at Owen -- like Owen hung the stars, the moon, and the SMW tag belts all by himself.
He says little. Means everything.
His laugh is described as a low, goofy bark. His loyalty is unshakeable. His brain? Sometimes slow to catch up -- but his heart never lags.
"He's a little slow, a little soft, and way too handsome," Owen once said. "But he's mine. So be nice or get suplexed."
💔 PERSONAL SIDE/HEADCANONS
- Eats like a... well, like a Bulldog.
Devours five meals a day. Doesn't know the word "leftovers". If it's Owen's cooking? He eats like he's been starving for days.
- Has watched Shrek 2 over 30 times.
Says it's "proper cinema."
- Cuddles Owen like a teddy bear post-match.
Doesn't matter how sweaty or how brutal the match was -- Davey will curl around Owen on the locker room chairs, couches, etc like a protective weighted blanket.
- Cannot remember half the moves he does.
He just lifts people and lets muscle memory handle the rest. Once said:
"I dunno what I hit 'im with. Looked cool though, didn't it?"
- Carries dog treats in his gym bag.
For the strays around the arenas. And for himself if Owen's not looking.
- Sleeps like a log, talks in his sleep.
Alexandra swears she once heard him say "You're my special boy, Owen," mid-snore. Owen turned red for three days. Davey had no idea what they were talking about.
- Smells like cedarwood, sweat, and expensive cologne Owen picked out.
You know this man has zero idea how to shop. Owen curates every product in his bathroom. Davey just says thank you and uses it religiously.
- Has to be reminded to take his wrist tape off after matches.
He's sat through entire post-show dinners with it still on. Owen quietly removes it for him while Jim shakes his head in the background.
- Thinks oatmeal is a gourmet meal.
Especially if you "add raisins or cinnamon and stuff." He once made it for Owen on Valentine's Day. Owen said it was "horrifyingly sweet."
- Hides love notes in Owen's gear bag.
Short and scribbly. Usually stuff like "you're my champ ❤️" or "you looked SO COOL out there (but sweaty)." Owen keeps every single one in a shoebox labeled "Davey's Brain Notes."
- Carries a tiny plush bulldog in his gym bag.
It's old and falling apart. Alexandra gave it to him years ago after a brutal match where he got concussed. It's named Snuffles and has Owen's initials stitched on the collar.
- Thinks milk is "brain juice".
Drinks three glasses a day. Alexandra insists it's why he remembers nothing but has bones like steel. He calls it his "thinkin' drink."
- Wants "at least three babies."
Thinks Owen would be a perfect dad. Has already bought baby onesies that say "Tag Team Champion of My Heart." Owen found them. Blushed for three days. Didn't say no.
Not every hero has to be smart to be wise. Not every protector has to shout to be heard. Davey reminds us that strength and softness can live in the same body -- and should.
He's proof that being a big, beautiful himbo is a kind of wrestling art form. And that loving loudly is a kind of revolution.
The British Bulldog isn't just a powerhouse. He's the arms of SMW. He lifts more than weight. He lifts us.
He's more than muscle. He's heart in human form. He's devotion in wrestling trunks. He's the rare kind of wrestler who makes people feel safe just by existing -- and feel joy just by smiling.
He protects Owen. He believes in Alexandra. He hugs Jim with enough force to knock the wind out of him.
And every single fan in the arena knows: When the Bulldog is in the ring, love's never far behind.
